BIOGRAPHY
Juan Daniel García Treviño is a young musician and actor originally from Monterrey. His career in music began when he decided to abandon his studies to dedicate himself fully to his passion. After years in the industry, he had the opportunity to open a concert for Celso Piña, whom he has admired since he was little. During that night the opportunity to start a career in acting opened up, after they saw his performance on stage, with his band El Son de Kumbia , and invited him to do a casting for the movie I’m No Longer Here , directed by Fernando Frías. Juan Daniel took on the main role, that of Ulises, the leader of a group of cumbia enthusiasts who must flee to the United States after getting into trouble with drug trafficking. During the premiere of I’m No Longer Here at the 2020 Morelia International Film Festival, Juan Daniel stated for several Mexican media that it took him several months to prepare the character, and that he focused mainly on dancing. The film was crowned at the FICM 2020, while Juan Daniel continues to explore the path of acting without leaving aside his passion for music. In 2020, the actor won the Ariel Awards statuette for Best Acting Revelation thanks to his work in I’m No Longer Here .
