Eduardo Garcia Valseca was kidnapped one fine morning in the presence of his wife, Jayne.

In the summer of 2007, the Valseca couple was returning to their home after dropping off their kids at school. But they were attacked by armed people, and Eduardo was kidnapped while Jayne was deserted with instructions to follow.

The kidnappers demanded a whopping ransom of $8 million, given that Eduardo's father ran a nationwide news press in Mexico.

However, the couple had barely any money to pay for the ransom; thus, after much communication and patience for the next seven months, Eduardo was released on a $1 million ransom.

Although he reunited with his family again, the hopeless man felt he would die during his captivity facing enormous bullying and beatings.

Moreover, Eduardo was shot twice, once in his leg and later in his arm, to threaten his wife back home.

Meet Eduardo Garcia Valseca's Wife Jayne

Eduardo Garcia Valseca was backed up by his supportive wife Jayne throughout the harsh days.

All the family and the public widely appreciate her intelligence and confidence during the kidnapping. Jayne Rager was an American actress hailing from Washington, and the two got married in 1994 in Maryland. 

The couple first met in 1992 and dated for two more years before tying the wedding knot.

The well-fledged couple had settled in San Miguel de Allende and started a family. The couple supported their happy lives with earnings from real estate and a Waldorf School that they had started.

Sadly, Jayne left the world on May 3, 2012, after battling breast cancer. She was 45 years old and had passed away at her home in Potomac.

The late Jayne was a dedicated advocate for the families and victims of the kidnapping for ransom racket.

Her death news shocked the community, and she was honored with the Jayne Rager Fund at the Waldorf School in Washington, DC.

Jayne published "We Have Your Husband" with Mark Ebner in 2011. The book was turned into a Lifetime television movie starring Teri Polo and Esai Morales.
